Santiago de Cali, August 17, 2026

The Cali Mayor’s Office, headed by Alejandro Eder, has remained tirelessly committed to collecting and distributing aid from its Collection Center established at Ciudadela Petronio, located at the Alberto Galindo Sports Complex, which was transformed for this purpose last Tuesday, one day after the 7.4-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Cali at 7:34 a.m.

Although 204.240 kilograms have been delivered, 70.400 kg are still available at the center, making it possible to reach the operational goal of maintaining a stock that will allow aid to be distributed continuously for as long as the affected families need it.

The humanitarian aid, which has been distributed across 22 districts and 5 townships of Cali, has totaled 204.2 tons, distributed through 280 shipments and 1.970 line items, including 9 types of supplies: food packages, water, cleaning supplies, textiles, tools, among others. Food packages and water account for 76.9% of the aid.

In Cali, 156.3 tons have been delivered, representing 76.5% of the total, while outside the capital of Valle del Cauca, 48 tons (23.5% of the total) have been dispatched to 19 municipalities in the department and to Istmina, in Chocó.

Within Cali, the rural area received 7.0% (14.314 kilograms), in townships where roads are largely affected and access is more difficult.

Thus, in the urban area of Cali (across districts and locations without an assigned commune), 141.939 kilograms, or 69.5% of the aid, have been delivered, while 47.986 kg (23.5%) have been delivered to municipalities outside Cali.

The municipalities served outside Cali are Buenaventura, with 7.861 kilograms delivered; Yumbo, 1.447; Dapa, 469; La Cumbre, 7.301 kg; Dagua, 6.556 kg; La Unión, 6.170 kg; Trujillo, 4.027 kg; El Águila, 2.746 kg; Yotoco, 2.532 kg; Bolívar, 1.538 kg; Jamundí, 1.335 kg; El Cairo, 1.109 kg; Caicedonia, 1.062 kg; Sevilla, 932 kg; Calima-El Darién, 650 kg; Argelia, 146 kg; Candelaria, 46 kg; Tuluá, 23 kg; and Roldanillo, 2.027 kg.

What types of aid have been delivered?

When the aid delivered was broken down, it was found that the distribution by type of aid item consisted of food and food packages (119.824 kg), water and beverages (37.271 kg), textiles and bedding (16.725 kg), diapers and childcare supplies (11.133 kg), personal hygiene supplies (7.993 kg), rescue and protective equipment (4.806 kg), healthcare and medical supplies (4.440 kg), pet supplies (1.633 kg), and other items (413 kg).
